LARSON® FR achieves an outstanding fire rating

ALUCOIL, recently, has successfully passed the French LEPIR 2 * full scale test for its LARSON® FR panels.

The test was performed in order fulfil with the new French regulation demanding a higher level of fire safety for facade cladding.

The test result has demonstrated another time the impressive fire resistance of LARSON® FR panels. In 2018 it also exceeded one of the most aggressive full scale fire tests (according to British Standard: BS 8414-1). This result places once again ALUCOIL as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of aluminum panels for architectural facades.

The world’s largest honeycomb panel: larcore® by Alucoil

ALUCOIL, manufacturer of advanced materials for architecture, transport and industry, manufactures in its continuous line the largest honeycomb panel in the world, intended, in this case, for manufacturing lightweight truck bodyworks.

ALUCOIL‘s facilities have been preparing for years to manufacture, manipulate and transform large panels to respond the growing demand of mass transport sector.

With ALUCOIL’s honeycomb panels, lighter and more efficient constructions are achieved, where the assemblies require continuous pieces, increasingly larger and without joints for ceilings, walls or floors.

Thanks to their honeycomb core and aluminium skins, larcore® panels are light, rigid, resistant and ready to support heavy loads without adding weight. This helps mobility of the transports where they are installed.

Alucoil North America continues ACM/MCM training with AEC Daily

Want to learn all about aluminum/metals composite façade panels?

Alucoil North America has an online course focusing on ACM claddings “An ACM/MCM Overview: From Manufacture to Long-Term Performance”.

This presentation will be a course/talk where the following topics will be discussed: the continuous manufacturing process that results in extremely flat and strong panels, installation, paint coatings, and technical aspects of façades made of metal composite panels.

There, you will get information about the fire classification of these panels, as well as a comparison of ACM/MCM attachment systems to evaluate how they eliminate or manage water infiltration behind the panels, while preventing moisture from entering the building interior.

Also discussed is the performance of ACM/MCM with fire-resistant cores and the testing methods required by the building code along with the sustainability benefits of ACM/MCM through the use of highly recycled and recyclable metals.

This is an ‘accredited continuing education’ class (1 Learning Unit) for architects to maintain their standing with the AIA (American Institute of Architects).

ALUCOIL participates in the on arc fair

ALUCOIL adds and continues with the online events. Despite the world pandemic, it has not stopped and continues as always, serving its customers.

This time, ALUCOIL has been present at the virtual on arc fair, a convergence space where a large number of Australian architects and internationally recognized brands have participated and presented their newest products.

In this event the new installation system Hidetech® LIGHT has been presented, for the 6 mm larcore® panels, a much more versatile and fast to install system. This new system, designed especially for building cladding, has a fire classification of A2-s1, d0.

Furthermore, larcore® panels have recently obtained the EPD certificate, an environmental certificate issued in accordance with the international ISO 14025 standard (type III eco-labels) which provides reliable, transparent and verified information on the life cycle of a product, once again demonstrating ALUCOIL‘s commitment to caring for the environment and responsible production and consumption (ODS 12).

ALUCOIL MARINE, with larcore® panels, contributes to the construction of the first fast gas-powered ferry in the world

On September 18th, the new “Fast – Ferry” of the company BALEARIA, the catamaran ship Eleanor Roosvelt, was launched.

Built by Astilleros Armón, in Gijón, this fast ferry is 123 meters long and 28 meters wide. It is built entirely in aluminium and is the first in the world to be powered by liquid gas, a great advance in the care of the environment and the marine environment.

ALUCOIL, manufacturer of advanced materials for building, industry and transport, has supplied, through OLIVER DESIGN, the company responsible for the interior fitting out, larcore® panels in different finishes, which have been installed in the bulkheads, ceilings and doors of the different interior areas of the ship.

larcore® is a sandwich panel with an aluminium honeycomb core, formed in a continuous industrial process and certified according to the international IMO MED standards for its application in the naval sector. It is an extremely light and resistant material and its excellent properties make it easy to machine and perfect for naval applications. In addition, it is very rigid, and resistant to tension and compression loads.

This is how ALUCOIL, in its commitment to industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9) contributes to the creation of more sustainable and pioneering ships in the market.

ALUCOIL obtains EPD certification for its larcore® honeycomb panel

Last October, ALUCOIL obtained the recognized and prestigious EPD certificate for its larcore® A2 Aluminium Honeycomb panel validated under the International EPD System.

The EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is an environmental certificate issued in accordance with the international ISO 14025 standard (type III eco-labels) which provides reliable, transparent and verified information on the life cycle of a product.

AENOR, currently has mutual recognition agreements in force with the Swedish administrator EPD International AB, which manages the International EPD System – Environdec programme, which has validated this certificate as an independent operator.

This is an indicator that certifies that larcore® and its manufacturing process maintain their commitment with the environment, which reinforces the image of ALUCOIL as an international manufacturer focused on excellence and continuous improvement of its products.

ALUCOIL is committed to responsible production and consumption (SDG 12), innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9 ) and sustainable communities and cities (SDG11).

ALUCOIL in the BCI World Asia.

Facing the actual situation caused by the COVID-19, the view of the life and business that all of us used to had, has been completely changed. In the case of fairs and face-to-face events, companies have seen themselved obliged to be adapted to the new situation, using the benefits of the digital environment to continue the direct contact, as well as the proximity, with customers.

To claim the prevention measures in fairs and events, the physical attendance has been cancelled for the time and the spreading of virtual platforms is at its peak. That happened in the BCI World ASIA, the last 19th October, in which ALUCOIL participated as speaker, offering an interesting web-conferece about its larson® and larcore® products and their alternatives and uses in the architecture, especially in the airport one.

Participating actively in this kind of online events, ALUCOIL continues being closed with its customers, is adapted and overcomed to every kind of situations, offering its best efforts.
